4. If the resistance is within specifications, check the solenoid valve filter (A) for clogging. If it is clogged, 

replace the solenoid valve filter, the engine oil filter, and the engine oil.

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 

CMP SENSOR A REPLACEMENT 

1. Remove the air cleaner (see AIR CLEANER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).  

2. Disconnect the CMP sensor A connector (A).

3. Remove the bolt (B).  

4. Remove CMP sensor A (C).  

5. Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal with a new O-ring (D).

VTEC SOLENOID VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the VTEC solenoid valve connector (A) and the VTEC oil pressure switch connector (B).
