REFERENCE INFORMATION [CAR-NAVIGATION SYSTEM] 

STARTING PROCEDURE FOR DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION 

1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.  

2. Press the MENU button.  

3. Select "Navigation Set Up".  

4. Select "Calibration".  

5. Select "Map Version".  

6. Press the upper left part of the screen 2 times, then press the lower left part 2 times.  

7. Perform the following procedures according to the purpose of the item checked.

Does the fault phenomenon improve?  

Yes Troubleshooting is completed.
No

Replace the car-navigation unit.

No.

1 PKB

NOTE:

Displayed but not used in the inspection. 

2 REV

Indicates reverse signal status. 

ON: Reverse  

OFF: Others  

3 Microphone

Indicates the connection status of the microphone. 

OK: Connected  

NCON: Disconnected

Microphone related signal inspection:  

1. Press the "Menu" button on the "Diagnosis Check" screen.  

2. Select "Navigation Check Menu".  

3. Select "Microphone Check".

MICROPHONE CHECK INSPECTION CHART 

4 SPEED

(1)

Indicates the present vehicle speed in kph/mph (maximum of 3 digits).

5 TNS

(1)

Indicates TNS signal status. 

ON: Turn TNS ON  

OFF: Turn TNS OFF  

6 GPS Antenna

(1)

Indicates the connection status of the GPS antenna. 

OK: Connected  

NCON: Disconnected  

7 Traffic System

Indicates RDS-TMC system availability on the vehicle. 

TMC: Equipped  

NONE: Not equipped  

(1)

Used for symptom troubleshooting. (Troubleshooting index No. 5 and No. 8)

1 PTT switch status

Indicates the status of the VOICE button. 

< OK >: Press the button (Keep the state until the screen is 
changed.)  

< Please Push Switch >: Other than above condition.  

Indicates the test results.

FINISHING PROCEDURE FOR DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION 

1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.  

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ACC or ON position.  

3. Return to the normal screen.

Microphone input level 
judging

Blue indicator: Sound is input from the microphone correctly.  

Gray indicator: Sound is input from the microphone incorrectly. 

3 Microphone level

Indicates the input level of the microphone using a bar graph.

Parking Brake System - Mazda CX-9 

PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM LOCATION INDEX

PARKING BRAKE INSPECTION 

1. Depress the parking brake pedal a few times.  

2. Depress the brake pedal a few times.  

3. Inspect the parking brake stroke by depressing the parking brake pedal with a force of 180 N {18.4 kgf, 

40.5 lbf}. 

Parking brake pedal stroke when depressed at 180 N {18.4 kgf, 40.5 lbf}  

1-3 notches  

PARKING BRAKE ADJUSTMENT 

1. Turn the adjusting nut at the front of the parking cable.  

2. After adjustment, inspect the following points:
