ABS LAMP CKT SHORT

When Monitored and Set Condition:

ABS LAMP CKT SHORT

When Monitored:

10 seconds after ignition on.

Set Condition:

Short circuit in ABS lamp driver circuit.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

ABS LAMP CIRCUIT SHORT

This is an internal cluster failure.
If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.

Repair

Replace instrument cluster circuit board.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

Symptom:

ABS LAMP OPEN

When Monitored and Set Condition:

ABS LAMP OPEN

When Monitored:

10 seconds after ignition on.

Set Condition:

Open in ABS indicator bulb.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

ABS LAMP OPEN

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD

TEST

ACTION

APPLICABILITY

1

Turn ignition off.
Check the ABS bulb, and replace if necessary.
Turn ignition on and observe the ABS indicator.
Did the ABS indicator light?

All

Yes

→

Test complete.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

No

→

Replace instrument cluster circuit board.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

INSTRUMENT CLUSTER

Symptom:

ABS MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED BY MIC

When Monitored and Set Condition:

ABS MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED BY MIC

When Monitored:

Monitored during ignition on.

Set Condition:

No ABS messages received for 6 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

NO ABS MESSAGES

STORED CODE/COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS

INTERMITTENT PROBLEM

REPAIR PROBLEM

TEST

ACTION

APPLICABILITY

1

Turn ignition on.
Connect the DRBIII.
Select ABS Module.
Is there a response from the ABS Module?

All

Yes

→

Go To

2

No

→

Refer to symptom *NO RESPONSE FROM CAB CONTROLLER
in the COMMUNICATION category.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

With the DRBIII

t, erase the DTC from Instrument Cluster.

Now be sure that there is still communication with the ABS module, if not repair as
necessary.
With the DRB check, for the same DTC to reappear.
Did the same DTC become present again?

All

Yes

→

Go To

3

No

→

Test Complete.

Note: Visually inspect the related wiring harness. Look for any chafed,
pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
Note: Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for
broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals.
Note: Refer to any technical service bulletins that may apply.
If any problems are found to be present, Repair as necessary.
Were any problems found?

All

No

→

Replace the Instrument Cluster.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Yes

→

Repair as necessary.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Symptom:

ACM MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED BY MIC

When Monitored and Set Condition:

ACM MESSAGE NOT RECEIVED BY MIC

When Monitored:

Monitored during ignition on.

Set Condition:

No ACM messages received for 6 seconds.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

ACM RESPONSE

STORED CODE/COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS

INTERMITTENT PROBLEM

REPAIR PROBLEM

TEST

ACTION

APPLICABILITY

Turn ignition on.
Connect the DRBIII.
Select ACM Module.
Is there a response from the ACM Module?

All

Yes

→

Go To

2

No

→

Refer to symptom *NO RESPONSE FROM ACM in the COMMU-
NICATION category.
Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

With the DRBIII

t, erase the DTC from Instrument Cluster.

Now be sure that there is still communication with the ACM module, if not repair as
necessary.
With the DRB check, for the same DTC to reappear.
Did the same DTC become present again?

All

Yes

→

Go To

No

→

Test Complete.
