CHECK INPUT SIGNAL

With CONSULT-II

1. Start engine.
2. Select “TCM INPUT SIGNALS” in “DATA MONITOR” mode for “A/T” with CONSULT-II.
3. Read out the value of “TURBINE REV”. Check the value changes according to engine speed.

Without CONSULT-II

1. Start engine.
2. Check voltage between TCM terminal 38 and ground. (Measure in AC range.)

1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection.
2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminal for damage or loose connection with harness connector.

Description

NBAT0228

The ECM and TCM provide mutual communication in relation to
engine output control signal (ignition timing retard signal) during
rapid standing starts/acceleration. With this consistent real-time
control, the shifting feel is substantially improved.

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CONFIRMATION
PROCEDURE

After the repair, perform the following procedure to confirm the
malfunction is eliminated.

With CONSULT-II

1)

Turn ignition switch “ON”.

2)

Select “DATA MONITOR” mode for “A/T” with CONSULT-II.

3)

Wait at least 6 seconds or start engine and wait for at least 6
seconds.

No Tools

1)

Turn ignition switch “ON”.

2)

Wait at least 6 seconds or start engine and wait for at least 6
seconds.

3)

Perform self-diagnosis.
Refer to TCM SELF-DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE (No Tools),
AT-46.
