DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE FOR MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT (REAR CONTROL 
SWITCH)

SYMPTOM: Rear control switch A/C operation does not work.

1. 

CHECK FOR AUTO AMP. OUTPUT

1.

Turn ignition switch ON.

2.

Confirm multiplex communication signal between auto amp. har-
ness connector M120 terminal 30, 31 and ground using an oscil-
loscope.

OK or NG

OK

>> GO TO 2

NG

>> Replace auto amp.

2. 

CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN REAR CONTROL SWITCH AND AUTO AMP.

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect rear control switch connector and auto amp. connec-
tor.

3.

Check continuity between rear control switch harness connector
B502 terminals 3, 4 and auto amp. harness connector M120 ter-
minals 30, 31.

OK or NG

OK

>> GO TO 3.

NG

>> Repair harness or connector.

TROUBLE DIAGNOSIS

3. 

CHECK FOR AUTO AMP. INPUT

1.

Reconnect rear control switch connector and auto amp. connec-
tor.

2.

Turn ignition switch ON.

3.

Confirm multiplex communication signal between auto amp. har-
ness connector M119 terminal 15 and ground using an oscillo-
scope.

OK or NG

OK

>> INSPECTION END

NG

>> GO TO 4.

4. 

CHECK CIRCUIT CONTINUITY BETWEEN REAR CONTROL SWITCH AND AUTO AMP. 

1.

Turn ignition switch OFF.

2.

Disconnect rear control switch connector and auto amp. connec-
tor.

3.

Check continuity between rear control switch harness connector
B502 terminal 11 and auto amp. harness connector M119 termi-
nal 15.

OK or NG

OK

>> Replace rear control switch.

NG

>> Repair harness or connector.

REMOVAL

1.

Remove front grille. Refer to 

EI-21, "FRONT GRILLE"

 .

2.

Disconnect ambient sensor connector, and then remove ambi-
ent sensor.

INSTALLATION

Installation is basically the reverse order of removal.
