Disconnect both battery cables in advance.

I

Disconnect air bag system line in advance.

I

Never tamper with or force air bag lid open, as this may adversely affect air bag performance.

I

Be careful not to scratch pad and other parts.

Remove air bag module (driver) and steering wheel.

Refer to “SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM” in RS

section for details.

Remove dash side lower finishers.

Refer to “Side and Floor Trim” in “INTERIOR TRIM” for details, BT-26.

Steering column cover and combination switch

Remove screws.

Instrument lower panel on driver side

I

Remove screws and bolts then disconnect harness connectors and in-vehicle sensor

duct.

Instrument lower reinforcement

I

Remove bolts.

Steering column mounting

nuts.

details.

Cluster lid A

I

Remove screws.

Steering lock escutcheon

Remove screws.

Combination meter

Remove screws then disconnect harness connectors.

Instrument lower cover on passenger side

Then disconnect passenger air bag module connector.

Glove box assembly

Remove screws.

I

Then disconnect harness connectors.

Remove screws.

Center ventilation grille

I

Pull out with a miniature flat-bladed screwdriver.

Lock console

Card pocket assembly

Remove screws.

Console A/T finisher

Remove screws from the instrument panel.

Console box assembly

Remove screws then disconnect harness connectors.

Defroster grille

Then remove sunload sensor.

Sunload sensor

Then disconnect harness connector.

Front pillar garnish

Instrument panel and pads

Remove bolts.

I

Disconnect SMJ of instrument harness.

Note: Remove instrument panel and pads with instrument
