Removal and Installation

AES0008N

REMOVAL

1.

Set engine slinger to engine, then suspend an engine.

2.

Remove tire with power tool.

3.

Remove undercover with power tool.

4.

Remove steering hydraulic piping bracket from front suspension member. Refer to 

PS-31, "HYDRAULIC

LINE"

 .

5.

Remove steering gear from front suspension member and hang steering gear on vehicle. Refer to 

PS-13,

"POWER STEERING GEAR AND LINKAGE"

 .

6.

Remove suspension arm from front suspension member. Refer to 

FSU-12, "SUSPENSION ARM"

 .

7.

Remove stabilizer bar mounting bolts and nuts from front suspension member and hang stabilizer on vehi-
cle with power tool. Refer to 

FSU-14, "STABILIZER BAR"

 .

8.

Set jack under front suspension member.

9.

Remove mounting bolts and nuts of member stay, then remove member stay from vehicle.

10. Remove fixing nuts between engine mounting insulator and front suspension member. Refer to 

EM-76,

"ENGINE ASSEMBLY"

 .

11. Remove front suspension member fixing nuts from body. 

12. Slowly down jack to remove front suspension member from vehicle.

INSPECTION AFTER REMOVAL

Check front suspension member for deformed parts, cracks, or any other damage. Replace if necessary.

INSTALLATION

Refer to 

FSU-8, "Components"

  for tightening torque. Tighten in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

Refer to component parts location and do not reuse non-reusable parts.

Perform final tightening of each part under unladen conditions with tires on ground. Check wheel align-
ment. Refer to 

FSU-6, "Wheel Alignment Inspection"

 .

This manual contains maintenance and repair procedure for the 2004 
INFINITI M45.

In order to assure your safety and the efficient functioning of the vehicle, 
this manual should be read thoroughly. It is especially important that the 
PRECAUTIONS in the GI section be completely understood before starting 
any repair task.
