DRIVE BELTS EM-13 C D E F G H I J K L M A EM DRIVE BELTS PFP:02117 Checking Drive Belts ABS004QX WARNING: Be sure to perform when engine is stopped. ● Remove air duct (inlet) when inspecting drive belt for alternator, water pump and A/C compressor. ● Remove engine undercover (with power tool) when inspecting power steering oil pump belt. ● Make sure that indicator (single line notch) of each auto tensioner is within the allowable working range NOTE: ● Check the auto tensioner indication when engine is cold. ● When the new drive belt is installed, the range should be A. ● The indicator notch is located on the moving side of auto tensioner for alternator, water pump and A/C ● Visually check entire belt for wear, damage or cracks. ● If the indicator is out of allowable working range or belt is damaged, replace the belt. Tension Adjustment ABS004QY Belt tensioning is not necessary, as it is automatically adjusted by auto tensioner. Removal and Installation ABS004QZ REMOVAL 1. Remove air duct (inlet). Refer to EM-16, "AIR CLEANER AND AIR DUCT" 2. With box wrench, and while securely holding the hexagonal part CAUTION: Avoid placing hand in a location where pinching may occur 3. Under the above condition, insert a metal bar of approximately 6 ● Leave auto tensioner pulley arm locked until belt is installed 4. Remove alternator, water pump and A/C compressor belt.
