YES

WARNING:

• Before servicing, turn ignition switch OFF, disconnect both battery terminals and wait at least 3 min-

utes. (To discharge backup capacitor.)

• Do not use unspecified tester or other measuring device. 

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR

Check the connection of harness connector.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 2.

NO

>> Repair or replace harness connectors.

2.

CHECK WIRING HARNESS

Check the wiring harness externals.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> GO TO 3.

NO

>> Repair or replace wiring harness.

3.

CHECK OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM CONTROL UNIT

1.

Replace OCS CONTROL UNIT. (passenger side seat cushion assembly.)

2.

Check the screen of CONSULT-lll.

Is the inspection result normal?

YES

>> INSPECTION END.

NO

>> Check the intermittent incident. Refer to 

GI-38, "Intermittent Incident"

DTC B1023 PASS A/B INDCTR CKT

Suppresses the deployment of passenger air bag when the condition of passenger seat is empty or child and
child-seat. And turns on passenger air bag indicator (cut-off telltale) lamp when the condition of passenger
seat is child-seat and child. In case of malfunction the blinking of the SRS air bag warning lamp reports the
malfunction to driver and by the on board self-diagnosis system or electro-diagnosis tester CONSULT-lll can
detect the cause.

OPERATION

Turns on passenger air bag indicator (cut-off telltale) when the passenger seat is empty or occupied by child-
seat and child.

STRUCTURE

Passenger air bag indicator (cut-off telltale) with LED illumination.

INSTALLATION

Passenger air bag indicator (cut-off telltale) is installed at the instrument panel center.

DTC B1026, B1027, B1028, B1029, B1030, B1031 DIAGNOSIS SENSOR UNIT

Detects the whole SRS electrical system and displays the malfunction either by illuminating or blinking the air
bag warning lamp in the combination meter. Malfunctioning part can be detected by on board self-diagnosis
system and electro-diagnosis tester CONSULT-lll.

OPERATION

It detects a shock that exceeds specified level and monitors such systems as the driver and passenger air
bag, side air bag, curtain air bag, pre-tensioner seat belts and Occupant Classification System (OCS) to
ensure proper operation. 

STRUCTURE

It contains the “G” sensors for both frontal and side collisions and spare battery function in case of main bat-
tery damage in collision.

INSTALLATION

SRS diagnosis sensor unit is installed under the center console with fixed bolts.
