Side Airbag Cutoff Indicator Stays On/Off

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure,
review SRS Precautions and Procedures (see page
24-16) and General Troubleshooting Information
(see page 24-27).

1. Clear the DTC memory (see page 24-28).

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the

SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and
then goes off.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this

time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures
(see page 24-29). If another DTC is indicated,
troubleshoot the DTC.

Check the No. 10 (7.5 A) fuse in the under-

dash fuse/relay box, then go to step 3.

3. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Make sure nothing is

on the front passenger’s seat.

4. Disconnect the OPDS/ODS unit harness 8P

18P

connector (A) from the OPDS/ODS unit.

: ’07-08 models

5. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

6. Measure the voltage between the No. 3

No. 18

terminal of the OPDS

ODS

unit harness 8P

18P

connector and body ground. There should

be battery voltage.

: ’07-08 models

Faulty OPDS/ODS unit; replace the OPDS/

ODS unit (see page 24-192).

Go to step 7.

7. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

8. Remove the gauge control module (see page

22-263). Disconnect gauge control module
connector C (20P) from the gauge control module.

9. Measure the resistance between the No. 3

No. 18

terminal of the OPDS

unit

harness 8P

connector and body ground.

There should be an open circuit or at least 1 M

: 2007 model

Replace the gauge control module (see page

22-263).

Short to ground in the OPDS/ODS unit

harness, floor wire harness, front passenger’s seat
wire harness, or dashboard wire harness; replace
the faulty harness.

SRS UNIT CONNECTOR A (28P)

Short to Ground in the SRS Indicator Circuit

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure,
review SRS Precautions and Procedures (see page
24-16) and General Troubleshooting Information
(see page 24-27).

1. Clear the DTC memory (see page 24-28).

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the

SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and
then goes off.

Go to step 3.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this

time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures
(see page 24-29). If another DTC is indicated,
troubleshoot the DTC.

3. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the

negative cable from the battery, and wait for 3
minutes.

4. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P) from the

SRS unit (see step 7 on page 24-26).

5. Remove the gauge control module (see page

22-263). Disconnect the gauge control module
connector C (20P) from the gauge control module.

6. Measure the resistance between the No. 11

terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P) and body
ground. There should be an open circuit or at least
1 M

Go to step 7.

Short to ground in the dashboard wire

harness; replace the dashboard wire harness.

7. Reconnect the gauge control module connector C

(20P).

8. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

9. Install a jumper wire between the No. 20 terminal

of gauge control module connector A (20P) and the
No. 17 terminal of the gauge control module
connector C (20P). The SRS indicator should go off.

Faulty SRS unit; replace the SRS unit

(see page 24-188).

Short to ground in the SRS indicator circuit of

the gauge control module; replace the gauge
control module (see page 22-263).

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure,
review SRS Precautions and Procedures (see page
24-16) and General Troubleshooting Information
(see page 24-27).

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the

SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and

3. Disconnect the passenger’s airbag cutoff indicator

6P connector (see page 24-196).

4. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the

negative cable from the battery, and wait for
3 minutes.

Wire side of female terminals

Does the SRS indicator go of f ?

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and is DT C 92-1x
indicated?
