11. Disconnect dashboard wire harness 24P connector

C402 (A) from the floor wire harness C402 (B).

12. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).

13. Measure the voltage between the No. 13 terminal

of the dashboard wire harness 24P connector C402
and body ground. There should be battery voltage.

Open in the WHT wire of the floor wire

harness, front passenger’s seat wire harness or
ODS unit harness; replace the faulty harness.

Open in the dashboard wire harness, poor

connection at connector N (see page 22-61), or
faulty under-dash fuse/relay box; replace the
dashboard wire harness or faulty part.

14. Turn the ignition switch OFF.

15. Measure the resistance between the No. 12

terminal of the ODS unit harness 18P connector D
and body ground. There should be 0

Go to step 16.

Open in the ODS unit harness, front

passenger’s seat wire harness or floor wire
harness; check the connection at G501 (see page
22-38). If the connection is OK, replace the faulty
harness.

16. Turn the ignition switch OFF. Disconnect the

negative cable from the battery, and wait for 3
minutes.

17. Disconnect both seat belt tensioner 4P connectors

(see step 6 on page 24-26).

18. Disconnect SRS unit connector A (28P) from the

SRS unit (see step 7 on page 24-26).

19. Measure the resistance between the No. 14

terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P) and body
ground. There should be an open circuit or at least
1 M

Go to step 20.

Go to step 23.

20. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and measure the

voltage between the No. 14 terminal of SRS unit
connector A (28P) and body ground. There should
be 0.5 V or less.

Go to step 21.

Short to power in the dashboard wire harness,

floor wire harness, front passenger’s seat wire
harness, or ODS unit harness.

21. Measure the resistance between the No. 14

terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P) and the
No. 7 terminal of the ODS unit harness 8P
connector D. There should be 0

1.0

Faulty ODS unit or SRS unit; replace the ODS

unit (see page 24-192). If the problem is still present,
replace the SRS unit (see page 24-188).

Go to step 22.

22. Disconnect the floor wire harness 10P connector

C504 from the front passenger’s seat wire harness.

23. Measure the resistance between the No. 14

terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P) and the
No. 8 terminal of floor wire harness 10P connector
C504. There should be 0

1.0

Open in the front passenger’s seat wire

harness; replace the front passenger’s seat wire
harness.

Open in the dashboard wire harness or the

floor wire harness; replace the faulty harness.

24. Disconnect front passenger’s seat wire harness 4P

connector C801 from the ODS unit harness.

25. Measure the resistance between the No. 14

terminal of SRS unit connector A (28P) and body
ground. There should be an open circuit or at least
1 M

Short to ground in the ODS unit harness;

replace the ODS unit harness.

Short to ground in the dashboard wire

harness, front passenger’s seat wire harness or
floor wire harness; replace the faulty harness.

DTC Troubleshooting (cont’d)

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this

time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures
(see page 24-29). If another DTC is indicated,
troubleshoot the DTC.

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure,

24-16) and General Troubleshooting Information
(see page 24-27).

1. Clear the DTC memory (see page 24-28).

2. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the

SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and
then goes off.

Go to step 3.

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this

time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures
(see page 24-29). If another DTC is indicated,
troubleshoot the DTC.

3. Initialize the OPDS/ODS unit (see page 24-30).

4. Turn the ignition switch ON (II), and check that the

SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and
then goes off.

The system is OK.

Replace the ODS unit (see page 24-192).

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and is 81-7 1 or
81-7 8 indicated?

Does the SRS indicator stay on, and is 85-7 1 or
85-7 8 indicated?

Does the SRS indicator go of f ?

NOTE: Before doing this troubleshooting procedure,
review SRS Precautions and Procedures (see page
24-16) and General Troubleshooting Information
(see page 24-27).

Calibrate (’07-08 Models)

Clear the DTC memory (see page 24-28).
