1. Remove the left rear under-seat trim panel (see

step 1 on page 20-117).

2. Remove the center seat belt lower anchor bolt (A).

3. Pull out the center seat belt (A) through the gap

between the rear seat-back and rear seat cushion.

4. Remove these items:

• Right rear under-seat trim panel (see step 2 on

page 20-117)

• Lower middle rear seat mount cover (see step 3

on page 20-117)

• Upper middle rear seat mount cover (see step 2

on page 20-119)

• Rear seat mount covers, both sides (see step 4 on

page 20-118)

• Right rear seat belt buckle and center seat belt

buckle

• Rear seat assembly (see page 20-117)
• Rear trim panel (see step 2 on page 20-68)
• C-pillar trim, both sides (see step 4 on page

20-68)

• Rear seat side trim, both sides (see step 9 on

page 20-62)

• Rear panel insulator (see page 20-69)

5. Remove the upper anchor bolt (A).

6. Remove the retractor bolt (A), and lift up on the

retractor (B) to release the hook (C), then remove
the center seat belt (D) and toothed lock washer (E).

7. Remove the bolts, then remove the seat belt guide

(A).

8. Install the seat belt in the reverse order of removal,

and note these items:

• Assemble the washers, collars, and bushing on

the upper anchor bolt as shown.

• Check that the retractor locking mechanism

functions as described (see page 24-12).

• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to

the anchor bolts before reinstallation.

• Before installing the anchor bolts, make sure

there are no twists or kinks in the seat belt.

1. Remove the left rear under-seat trim panel (see

step 1 on page 20-117).

2. Remove the center anchor bolt, then remove the

left rear seat belt buckle (A).

3. Install the seat belt buckle in the reverse order of

removal, and note these items:

• Apply medium strength type liquid thread lock to

the anchor bolt before reinstallation.

• Tighten the bolt by hand first, then tighten to

specification with a torque wrench.

1. Remove these items:

• Left rear under-seat trim panel (see step 1 on

page 20-117)

• Right rear under-seat trim panel (see step 2 on

page 20-117)

• Lower middle rear seat mount cover (see step 3

on page 20-117)

2. Remove the bolts (A) and screws (B), then remove

the right rear seat belt buckle (C)/center seat belt
buckle (D).

3. Install the seat belt buckles in the reverse order of

removal.

For front seat belt retractor with seat belt tensioner,
review the SRS component locations (see page 24-14)
and the precautions and procedures (see page 24-16)
before performing repairs or service.

1. Before installing the retractor, check that the seat

belt can be pulled out freely.

2. Make sure that the seat belt does not lock when the

retractor (A) is leaned slowly up to 15 ° from the
mounted position. The seat belt should lock when
the retractor is leaned over 40 °. Do not attempt to
disassemble the retractor.

3. Replace the seat belt with a new assembly if there

is any abnormality. Do not disassemble any part of
the seat belt for any reason.
