NOTE:

• Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat

covers.

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.
• Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to

avoid damage when prying components.

• The left seat cushion is shown; the right seat cushion

is similar.

1. Remove the rear seat assembly (see page 20-117).

2. Remove the seat cushion (see page 20-123).

3. Remove these items:

• Recline outer cover (see step 3 on page 20-123)
• Rear seat cushion under-cover trim (see step 5 on

page 20-124)

• Rear seat cushion under-cover (see step 6 on

page 20-124)

4. Using a trim tool, release the hooks (A), and pull

out the handle cover (B) to release the hooks (C),
then remove the cover from the rear seat cushion
handle (D).

5. Release the Velcro fastener (A), then pull back the

seat cushion cover (B). Disconnect the handle cable
(C).

6. Remove the screws, and release the hooks (A), then

remove the handle (B) from the cushion frame (C)
by pulling out the cable (D) through the hole in the
cushion frame.

7. Disconnect the handle cable (A) from the handle (B).

8. Install the handle in the reverse order of removal,

and note these items:

• Make sure the handle cable is connected securely.
• Check the seat cushion tip-up operation.

cushion cover (B).

5. Release the tabs (A) and clip, then remove the pivot

outer cover (B) and pivot inner cover (C).

6. Remove the rear seat cushion pivot cable (A).

–1 Remove the lock washer (B), then disconnect

the cable, and detach the cable clip (C).

–2 Remove the screws (D), then remove the cable

joint (E).

–3 Remove the nut (F), then remove the cable

guide (G) and inner mounting bracket (H), and
disconnect the cable from the cable guide.

7. Install the pivot cable in the reverse order of

removal, and note these items:

• Make sure the pivot cable is connected securely.
• Replace the lock washer with new one.

Rear Seat-back Cover Replacement

NOTE:

• Take care not to tear the seams or damage the seat

covers.

• Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove the seat-back (see page 20-119).

2. Remove the armrest (see page 20-121).

3. Release the hook strips (A) and fasteners (B).

4. Pull back the edge of the seat-back cover (A), then

release the hook strips (B, C).

5. Pull out the head restraint guides (A) while

pinching the tabs on the end of the guides, and
remove them.

6. Pull back the edge of the seat-back cover (A) all the

way around, and release the clips (B), then remove
the seat-back cover.

7. Install the cover in the reverse order of removal,

and note these items:

• To prevent wrinkles when installing a seat-back

cover, make sure the material is stretched evenly
over the pad before securing the hook strips and
clips.

• Replace any clips you removed with new ones.

Install them with commercially available
upholstery ring pliers.
